Greycloud Studios -- Cabaret Show Page

The performers of Greycloud Studios have long considered themselves to be "A repertory Company of Variety Entertainers." This fact has led to many attempts to bring together a wee bit of everything they do into one show. Prior to The Cabaret of Curiosities, these efforts have met with varying degrees of success.

Based on the Victorian cabinets of curiosities, this show is presented in a black box style and as such can be made to fir into any space. The show itself normally runs between an hour and a half to two hours depending upon the audience and whether or not the hosting venue desires an intermission. However, the length of the show can be expanded or contracted as needed.

The show begins with our host making the introductions and touching on the fact that what the audience is about to witness should never be attempted without the proper training.

That having been taken care off, the show progresses through a series of vignettes. These encompass everything from the consumption of fire to driving a nail into the center of a human head, to the telling of folk history, to Middle Eastern Belly Dance, to a reenactment of the trail of Giles Corry.

The entire show is presented with a slightly dark edge as if to say that the audience along with what is occurring on stage has strayed too far into that dark edge of society and now must witness the consequences.

While the show is complete as we present it, it is possible to bring in other performers to join us for one or more shows. These performers have developed and possess skills that we have not and their addition allows the focus of the show to expand. An obvious example of this would be the fact that we know and work with several jugglers. Thus, if you desired to also seethe art of juggling demonstrated at your even, it can happen.
